A relaxed prenatal gathering space for expectant families in Potsdam and Berlin to connect, share, learn, and prepare for birth together.
The Club
A joyful place tomeet, before birth
Pregnancy can feel isolating, especially in a country that is not the one you grew up in. Appointments are full of medical detail, the language shifts in and out of German, and the people who would normally walk this phase with you may be far away.
The Birth & Mother Club is an informal meet-up for expectant families in Potsdam and Berlin. It is the gathering I wished for in my own pregnancies: warm, unhurried, and without agenda. A place to talk honestly about what is on your mind in this phase, and to begin recognising the other faces you will keep seeing through pregnancy, birth, and the early days.
Pregnancy feels lighter, and far more joyful, when you walk it in the company of other expectant families finding their way alongside you.
Sessions are relaxed and unstructured. Some weeks the conversation lands on hospitals or midwives (Hebammen), some weeks on fears and hopes for the birth, some weeks on the practical questions of building a life with a baby between Potsdam and Berlin. Whatever is present for you that week, it belongs in the room.
Why Connection Matters
The friendships you make nowwill carry you through
The bonds that form between expectant families in the same phase tend to last. You will get to know the same people through scans and growing bumps, share news of births as they happen, and find each other in the early weeks with babies in your arms. It is one of the quiet gifts of meeting now, rather than waiting until the postnatal period to start looking for company.
For international families especially, finding others who are pregnant in Potsdam or Berlin at the same time as you can make a real difference. The system, the words, the small daily questions: it all becomes lighter when you are not the only one figuring it out.
What helps, again and again, is finding other expectant families in the same phase. Not people who have it figured out, but people who are walking toward birth alongside you, willing to be honest about how strange and tender it can feel.
What to Expect
Come as you are.Partners welcome
Sessions are held regularly in warm, relaxed settings that move around Potsdam and Berlin. Each gathering runs for two hours, long enough to settle and talk properly, short enough to fit around a working week and the tiredness that can come with pregnancy.
There is no agenda and no pressure to share anything you are not ready for. You can come and mostly listen. You can come and talk for the whole time. The group finds its own shape each session based on what is present for the people in the room.
Bring your questions, your honest self, and whoever is walking this pregnancy with you. That is all that is needed.
I hold the space with care: what is said stays in the room, no question is too small or too heavy, and you will not be met with advice you did not ask for. The Birth & Mother Club is not an antenatal class. It is a circle for expectant families, somewhere to land between appointments.

Who This Is For
You mightbelong here if…
You are pregnant and want to meet other expectant families in Potsdam or Berlin, in person rather than online.
You are an international or expat family preparing for birth here and would like to walk this phase with others doing the same.
You are early in pregnancy and not quite ready for a formal antenatal course, but already want some company.
You are a second-time parent who remembers how much the right circle of people mattered the first time around.
You are preparing for birth in the German system and want a calm space to ask the small questions that build up between appointments.
You would like your partner to come along too, to meet other expectant families.
You simply want to get out of the house and be around other people who are pregnant at the same time as you.
with love, Emma

A private group for the Club
Once you have come along to a gathering, you are welcome into a small private group on Telegram, just for the families in the Club. Somewhere to carry the conversation on between meet-ups, ask what is on your mind, and stay close in the weeks when the next gathering still feels a way off. It is invitation-only, so only the people in it can see what is shared.
